Job Opportunities at Your Fingertips

Mobile

Brief

LokerCepat is an app designed to match freelancers and part-time job seekers with employers or businesses that need temporary labor or short projects. The app focuses on providing an easy-to-use platform that allows users in Indonesia to search, register, and execute flexible jobs.

Challenges I Faced

  1. Balancing Speed and Safety

At first, applying was as easy as a single tap—until users asked, “What if this job is a scam?” I had to slow things down just enough to add verification, reviews, and fraud protections without making the process frustrating.

  1. Bridging the Digital Divide

Not everyone was tech-savvy. Watching users struggle with navigation made it clear: sleek wasn’t enough—clarity was key. I redesigned with bigger buttons, simpler flows, and a “just-get-me-a-job” approach.

  1. Keeping Employers Engaged

Job seekers flooded in, but businesses hesitated. Many signed up and vanished. We refined onboarding, added trust signals, and offered trial posts—slowly turning skeptics into active employers.

What i learned

This project was like trying to brew the perfect cup of coffee in a hurricane. Messy? Absolutely. Rewarding? Oh yeah. Here’s the drama, the lessons, and why I now worship sticky notes:

1. Users Don’t Want a “Solution” — They Want a Lifeline

I started with grand visions of sleek interfaces and flashy animations. Then I interviewed a single mom in Surabaya who said, “Saya cuma butuh kerjaan yang bayarnya cepat, bukan animasi keren.” (“I just need a job that pays fast, not fancy animations.”) Aha!

Lesson: Design isn’t about what’s cool — it’s about what’s critical. Drop the ego; solve the actual problem.

2. Trust is Built in the Margins

Early designs had a glowing “Apply Now” button… and zero scam protections. Cue user testing: “How do I know this job isn’t fake?” Oops.

Lesson: Tiny details matter — verification badges, transparent reviews, a “Lapor Masalah” button. Trust isn’t a feature; it’s the foundation.
